• Meeting with Mr. Germán Jaramillo, director for Europe of the Andean Development Corporation (10th March 2010).
  
• Participation in the conference “The Internationalization of the Spanish Companies", organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, addressed to newly appointed Spanish diplomats (9th March 2010).
  
• Participation in a meeting organized by the General Secretariat for International Trade (Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade), where the consequences of the Treaty of Lisbon for foreign direct investments were explained (20th January 2010).
  
•  Creation of the Business Committee of Internationalization.

Last January the Business Committee of Internationalization was constituted, set up by the Spanish Exporters and Investors Club, the Superior Council of Chambers of Commerce and the Leading Brands of Spain Forum. The presidents of these institutions, Mr. Balbino Prieto, Mr. Javier Gómez-Navarro and Mr. José Luis Bonet, signed the agreement during the celebration of the First Internationalization Summit held last October in Madrid.

This Committee intends to be a permanent think tank to reinforce the internationalization and the competitiveness of Spanish companies. The Committee pursues the following objectives:

1 - Analyze and disseminate the problems that concern internationalization and competitiveness of Spanish companies.
2 - Collaborate with the Public Administration in the development of these measures.
3 - Organize summits and seminars on internationalization and continue putting forward useful initiatives for the companies.

The Committee will analyze and identify companies’ needs in their international activity in order to advocate public policies supportive to them. As far as Public Administration collaboration is concerned, the Committee will submit initiatives to promote the dialogue with public institutions.

We are sure that the creation of this new forum will reinforce the support that the Club has been giving to Spanish companies in their international activity.

• Meeting with the secretary of State for International Trade (Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade), Mr. Alfredo Bonet. The main topics discussed during the meeting were the future of the EU trade policy and the Round of Doha (24th October 2006).
• Meeting with the minister of Environment, Mrs. Cristina Narbona. The meeting focused on how the international environmental policy affects Spain, the climate change, the Kyoto Protocol and other related questions (6th September 2006).
• Meeting with Mr. Óscar Vía, director general of Trade and Investment (Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade) and the deputy directors responsible for world regions in the Directotate-General (27th March 2006).
• Meeting with Mr. Apolonio Ruiz Ligero, vice-governor of the Counsil of Europe Development Bank (13th February 2006).
•  Meeting with Mr. José Viñals, director general of International Affairs (Bank of Spain) (18th January 2006).

• Meeting with the president of “Compañía Española de Financiación al Desarrollo” (COFIDES Financing Group), Mrs. Remedios Romeo, who presented the new services offered by the company (5th March 2005). 
• Meeting with the secretary of State for International Development (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation), Mrs. Leire Pajín, and the president of the Spanish Association for the Global Compact, Mr. Salvador García-Atance. Before the meeting the Club joined the United Nations Global Compact, during an act chaired by the secretary of State (19th March 2005).

• Meeting with Mr. Alberto Nadal, general secretary for Foreign Trade (Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade) (4th December 2003).
• Meeting with the European commissioner for Economic Affairs, Mr. Pedro Solbes, and several members of the Spanish Administration and representatives of foreign governments. The meeting focused on the process of enlargement of the European Union and new business opportunities as a result of it (10th November 2003).
• Meeting with Mr. Ramón Guzmán, director general for International Financing (Ministry of Economy and Finance) (8th October 2003).
• Meeting with Mr. Luis de Guindos, secretary of State for Economic Affairs (Ministry of Economy and Finance), who presented international economy growth prospects (22nd September 2003).
• Audience with the Prince of Asturias. The Board of Directors of the Club exposed the activities carried out by the Club (13th June 2003).

• Meeting with Mr. Enrique Alejo, director general of Trade and Investment (Ministry of Economy and Finance). Mr. Enrique Alejo and his team presented the work schedule of the Department of Trade and Investment for the next few months (25th September 2002). 
• Meeting with the Directotate-General of International Financing (Ministry of Economy and Finance). Mr. Gonzalo Ramos, director general of International Financing, Mr. Ángel Martín Acebes, deputy director of International Financing Institutions, and other representatives in charge of International Institutions at the Secretariat of State, took part in the meeting (12th June 2002).
